After days upon days of averting his gaze whenever she catches him staring, his fingers twiddling from the nerves, he would sequester himself for twenty-four hours. No calls, no text messages asking if she's all right. Too preoccupied with working up the courage, even though she's already decided that she would say yes--until finally, he asks if she'd like to go see the new dinosaur exhibit with him.
